The Gardens of Singapore

The Singapore Botanical Gardens
June 2018

After a restful night we were ready to enjoy our second day in Singapore visiting its famous gardens, the Singapore Botanical Gardens ( a Unesco World Heritage site) and Gardens by the Bay.  Both of these gardens are really theme parks for nature and flower lovers and we were excited to start our day walking through the National Orchid Garden wishing the massive Botanical Gardens.

It is difficult to find the words to explain how beautiful the orchid gardens are.  Wondering through its pathways over acres and acres of orchid displays was an experience.  Enjoy just a few of the photos from our walk.

Gardens by the Bay

By the late afternoon, we made our way back to the waterfront to visit Gardens by the Bay, Singapore's amusement park for nature lovers.  The scale of this park is hard to explain, let me just say it is huge, think Seaworld or Disneyland size.  It has acres for gardens, pathways and large enclosed air-conditioned structures that contain specialized gardens for rainforest and flower displays.

Since we were going to the Borneo rainforests next on our trip, we were excited to escape the heat and enter the huge rainforest gardens building where you walk on elevated walkways surrounding a ten story wall of plants.

Yes those are people up there!

A plant display like none other.
After the rainforest, we visited the Flower displays in another huge cool structure.  And then as the sun went down, we had dinner in one of the parks many restaurants and then found a patch of grass to watch the evening light show on the huge tree structures to cap off our garden day in Singapore.
